I assume you are like me and are absolutely tired of hearing about the NFL lockout (before) and hearing about the "lack of time" teams have to sign players (now). Yeah, it's nice to hear about which players have been released and added to each team, but I am getting sick of hearing about a few things. Actually, I am getting sick of hearing about a few people, two in particular that have been signed to the same team.
That team is the Patriots. It is possible I just hate Hoodie and all that he does. If you are not familiar with Hoodie, he is the Pats head coach, Bill Belichick (who is a convicted cheater, and without the best offensive line in the biz, would be a nobody). But let me return to those two people I am sick of hearing about:
Chad Ochocinco. He is past his prime and is close to washed up in my book. The Second is Albert Haynesworth who also signed with the Pats recently. This "slob" (I'll explain later) is the greatest example of greed and what is wrong with professional sports today.
A little background on Haynesworth: He is a defensive lineman and had a career season a few years back with the Tennessee Titans. He then signed a ridiculous deal with the Washington Redskins worth $100 million. He started complaining about the 'Skins defensive scheme, then decided "he got his" with that contract and decided not to care anymore. He started to (noticeably) give up on plays and became a bum. Literally, a bum. He showed up to camp last summer fatter than a sumo-wrestler at an Old Country Buffet and could not even pass the conditioning tests. He spent most of last season on the sidelines as the most paid backup in the history of the NFL. Good luck Hoodie. Nice pick up on that one.
Today, I was listening to Jim Rome when the "slob" quote came up on his show. Apparently, a professional hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers by the name of Ryan Whitney, who is from the Boston area, tweeted this beauty today:
"I can't believe the Patriots traded for possibly the laziest, biggest idiot in pro sports. Albert Hayneswortth is a slob."
What a beaut. This is one pro athlete talking about another. Can you get any better than that? Thanks, Ryan. You have to love a tweet that rips someone apart.
I'd also like to congratulate US Soccer today for finally getting rid of Bob Bradley as our soccer coach and hiring Jürgen Klinsmann (like the umlaut?). Bradley did a fine job as head coach, but it was obvious he didn't have what it takes for our program to reach that next level, and Klinsmann definitely does. He was previously Germany and Bayern Munich's coach, and that explains itself.
Until next time....When you've said Wisconsin...
The only thing I hate more then the White Sox and people who stop to turn right is "Hoodie". If ever a man deserved to get mauled by an escaped zoo tiger, it is him.
